Not sure that will help your daughter with her schoolwork though. The videos links worked well. Non-literal Language Non-literal or figurative language is language that goes beyond the dictionary meaning of words or phrases – not using words in their usual or most basic sense.

I have been this way since childhood and some of your examples (like “go fly a kite”) were very relatable!
