As my experience with text-based games is limited mostly to one or two less-than-ideal experiences, I didn't come into Torn expecting very much, and was surprised at how much the text itself was able to convey a living game world without the need for 2D or 3D avatars running from place to place. Once you begin the fight, each player's inventory is shown, and players are able to click on each equipped weapon to initiate attacks.
