The wind dies and the sail flutters once and lies still and the ship creaks underneath. The sound of bubbles popping at the surface can be heard from all around the ship and the stench of ammonia and fish fills the air as the vessel underneath lurches and creaks, loudly followed by the sound of timber breaking. Suddenly, a forest of undulating tentacles erupt from the ocean and surround the doomed ship. One tentacle stretches skyward briefly then flings itself towards a group of gawking sailors, flattening several and leaving scour marks from the multitude of hooked suckers along is length.
