One of the largest organizations in Etden, and certainly spanning the most contiguous geography, the Mercantillis manages and polices many trade routes, trade hubs and serves as arbitrator between powerful entities needing an objective third party.

Merchants who ply the sea routes between continents have long known about krakens, but lately, a new mutant derivation has been plaguing even the coastal trade routes. Consequently, a loose organization of specialist sailors, warriors and wizards who all make their living by guarding merchant vessels. Recently, they have even discovered a market for kraken sushi and kraken rum.

The world was unprepared for the demons. When the first gates were opened and the demon lords saw the bountiful pastures of livestock, their sick hearts knew only greed. Mankind had little primitive technology and almost no knowledge of manipulating the energies of the universe. Many attempts were made at fighting back against the demons, but little to show for it until contact was made with the celestials. Once they joined the fight, it escalated into what became known as the Conflagration.
